United Way Day of Action is a worldwide effort each year to recognize volunteering as an essential part of our brand promise and engage individuals in our communities. At its core, United Way Day of Action is an opportunity to get hands-on in your community.
The Lake Martin Area United Way will be hosting our annual Day of Action on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 8am to Noon. We will be at 3 area schools - Central High School (Coosa Co), Dadeville High School (Tallapoosa Co) and Jim Pearson Elementary School (Alex City Schools).
We NEED VOLUNTEERS to help beautify and clean our area schools for the 2019-2020 school year. Projects will vary by location and the needs of each school. Anticipated projects include, but are not limited to: painting, landscaping and landscape trimming and cleanup, general cleaning inside and outside at each location. Volunteers for the Main Street project will meet at the United Way Conference Room (19 Main Street) for assignments; all others will meet at their chosen school location. Volunteers may choose the school they prefer to work at or we'll be happy to assign volunteers where we need them the most.
Last year over 100 volunteers of all ages from across Coosa and Tallapoosa counties participated, including a number of students and parents from their respective schools.
