United Way Day of Action is a worldwide effort each year to recognize volunteering as an essential part of our brand promise and engage individuals in our communities. At its core, United Way Day of Action is an opportunity to get hands-on in your community.
The Lake Martin Area United Way hosted its annual Day of Action on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 8am to Noon at 3 area schools - Central High School (Coosa Co), Dadeville High School (Tallapoosa Co) and Jim Pearson Elementary School (Alex City Schools).
THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS who helped to beautify and clean our area schools for the 2019-2020 school year. Projects varied by location and the needs of each school. Projects included, but were not limited to: painting, landscaping and landscape trimming and cleanup, general cleaning inside and outside at each location. Volunteers chose the school they prefered to work at or were assigned to where we needed them the most.
Planning and volunteer registration for Day of Action 2020 will start in January/February 2020 with volunteer registration opening in March or April. Please stay tuned to this page and our Facebook page for updates.
Please consider volunteering 1 hour or 4 hours to help your community! Interested volunteers can always email Courtney Layfield, Initiatives Director at firstname.lastname@example.org to be put on the list to be notified of volunteer opportunitites.
