Leadership Societies

Red Feather Leadership Society

In 1998, several community leaders felt they should take the lead in contributing to the United Way. In this spirit, the Red Feather Society was founded. The contributors of the Red Feather Society are leaders of business, government, and those that are willing to invest back into the community in a very tangible manner by giving at least $1,000 each.

The first year, there were only 9 members. Today, 24 years later, there are 165members! This leadership category represents 51% of the entire campaign contributions.

Thank you to all our Red Feathers for their continued support!

Young Leaders Society

The Lake Martin Area United Way’s Young Leaders Society is a network of passionate, young professionals (early 20s to mid-40s) who share a passion for advancing community solutions through philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy in their own backyard. Members connect to their communities and each other through unique networking events and hands-on volunteering opportunities, leveraging the power of United Way to connect, serve and grow – both personally and professionally.

Together our Young Leaders are working as ONE to improve the lives of MANY. United Way Young Leaders are tomorrow’s community leaders and philanthropists with the tools to Give, Serve, and Inspire their local community.
