Day of Action

United Way Day of Action is a worldwide effort each year to recognize volunteering as an essential part of our brand promise and engage individuals in our communities. At its core, United Way Day of Action is an opportunity to get hands-on in your community.

The Lake Martin Area United Way will be participating locally in Day of Action on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 8am to Noon. We will be at 2 area schools - Benjamin Russell High School (Alex City Schools) and Dadeville Elementary (Tallapoosa County Schools) as well as working to paint and clean up on/around Main Street in Alex City.

Due to the school re-organization in Coosa County, we are unable to host a project there; however, they will be first on our list for 2019!

We NEED VOLUNTEERS to help beautify and clean our area schools for the upcoming school year and spruce up Main Street. Anticipated projects include, but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing, landscaping and landscape trimming and cleanup; and general cleaning inside and outside at each location. Volunteers for the Main Street project will meet at the United Way Conference Room (19 Main Street) for assignments; all others will meet at their chosen school location.

Last year almost 200 volunteers of all ages from across Coosa and Tallapoosa counties participated and almost 1/2 of the volunteers were students from their respective schools.

Please consider volunteering 1 hour or 4 hours to help your community! VOLUNTEERS can sign up ONLINE (Click Here) or download a Volunteer Registration Form and email it to uw211@unitedwaylakemartin.org or fax to 256-329-0110.
